Kamela Peart

Kamela Peart was born and raised in the vibrant Mission district of San Francisco, California.  The child of a multi-cultural family, Kamela found inspiration in the colorful people and places that dotted her childhood.  From the Hispanic community in which she was raised, to the eccentric Jamaican family that surrounded her, to the bright murals lining many of her neighborhood's streets, Kamela had no shortage of inspiring characters and scenes from which to choose to paint.  Her roots in this neighborhood have translated over the years into a rich portfolio of work which displays a masterful use of color and a passion for depicting her closest family and friends.

In her art, Kamela Peart invites us to recognize and embrace our beauty and faith. Our beauty through our prayer, our faith in women, and, above all, the faith and beauty we treasure in each other.
